Tropico 4 is my favourite city builder ever. Overall, a really fun game that even my potato PC can run and I highly recommend! As someone who lives in a 3rd world country with a corrupt and violent government, there is something so macabre yet familiar about seeing people executed by the police the way they are here. Important figures have these lovely political cartoon caricatures and the game is sure to poke fun at the seed underbelly of how the world is governed. What really stuck with me is the satirical tone and dark humour of the game. Aesthetics are at the absolute bottom of your priority list so if you have an ugly yet functional city, you don't feel like you're playing the game wrong. Something that really clicked with me right of the bat is that the cities you make prioritize function over form. To make your dreams a reality, you have to balance the people's wants and needs, appease the various political factions across the island and not upset other world governments. In this game, you are the dictator of the beautiful nation of Tropico and you endeavour to makeit a world superpower.
